Be All You Can Be…
Tor Voller says:
In Christianity!
Happy New Year everyone! Now is the time we make new year resolutions, and like most, mine never see fruition. This year I decided instead of creating an impossible goal to fail at, my new year resolution is going to be to be a better Christian, to do more for the church. I challenge you all to do so as well! What a wonderful way to go through the new year, striving towards a closer relationship with God.
I listen to K-Love which is a Christian rock station. Several songs caught my attention this morning as I began to think about what I can do this year to be a better Christian. I want to share some of the lyrics at the end. But as I listened there seemed to be a common theme. We are more than the sum of our parts, we were made for more. And that’s my plan this year, to be all I can be in the service of the Lord.
We’d love for you to step up to the plate and join us at Calvert. We’re striving to grow as both a Church and as Christians this year. Revitalization is the key word as we enter 2011. Please consider joining us in our journey!
You are More by Tenth Avenue North:
But don’t you know who you are?
What’s been done for you?
Yeah don’t you know who you are
You are more than the choices that you’ve made
You are more than the sum of your past mistakes
You are more than the problems you create
You’ve been remade
Beautiful by Mercy Me
You’re beautiful
You are made for so much more than all of this
You’re beautiful
You are treasured, You are sacred, You are His
And hold on cause there’s good for those who love God
But life is not a snapshot
It might take a little time but you’ll see the bigger picture
Before the Morning by Josh Wilson
Would you dare would you dare to believe
That you still have a reason to sing
Cause the pain that you’ve been feeling
It can’t compare to the joy that’s coming
So hold on you gotta wait for the light
Press on and just fight the good fight
Cause the pain that you’ve been feeling
It’s just the dark before the morning
Reaching for You by Lincoln Brewster
You’re the one who spoke the Word of life to light my darkness
You opened up my eyes ’til I could see
Jesus You have promised to complete the work You’ve started
Faithful to fulfill Your grace in me
I’m reaching for You,
I’m singing to You
I’m lifting my hands to praise You
I’m lifting my voice to thank You
I’m reaching for You, Jesus I need You
I’m giving my heart to know You
I’m living my life to serve You
I’m reaching for You
Oh I’m reaching
God I’m reaching for You
